Dedication: For Jeff

Opening: Part 1: Chapter One: Inga: I remember the day Ben was born, how they laid him on my chest all mottled pink and squirming. When I rubbed my cheek against his tender head, he clutched my finger with his tiny ones as if to claim me.

Arrived today, out of the blue, from Greenville, where this author grew up.

Thank you Judy, Susanna, Bob and Belinda

Main bug is that too much is given away on the back cover, but that said, this was a perfect bedside read, the sort that is perfect through half closed, tired eyes; not taxing on the intellect but interesting enough to keep one’s attention. That ending was from out of left field, it’s got to be said.
